RANGERS 1-0 Celtic – The Gers are set to beat Old Firm rivals Celtic to the signing of Manchester City winger Vladimir Weiss, on a season-long loan deal.

City are happy to loan out the 20-year-old Slovakian international, who was linked with a move to Celtic earlier this month. But it now appears Rangers have beaten the Hoops to the punch.

The Daily Record claim Weiss will undergo a medical and hold talks with Rangers this morning before sealing a move to Ibrox.

Good move by Rangers, not just in getting one over on their Glaswegian rivals, but also because Weiss is a very talented young player, who should torment full-backs in the SPL.

  1. Tinez says:

He’ll be the best player in that Rangers side.

  2. john says:

Given that Celtic were offered the player and decided that the deal didn’t represent good value for money, I fail to see how Rangers beat Celtic to the player. Good luck to the boy, only time will tell if he does indeed “represent good value for money,” and whether Celtic were wrong to knock back the chance of taking him on loan.

  3. Harper says:

Celtic were only taking Weiss as a favour to city as part of the Bellamy deal. As soon as Bellamy chose Cardiff Celtic backed out of the Weiss move. Haha nice spin though never expected that to the line of the media……

  4. Max says:

Should that not read Celtic 10 rangers 1??? lol!

You’re always good for a laugh Oily, PMSL!!

  5. Mack says:

I hear that Lennon went into a Glasgow petshop to look for a pet for his daughter. He considered a Labrador Retriever but decided that it shed too much and wasn’t for him. He buys a dog that fits the needs of the family

Walter Smith walked in the door five minutes after Neil left and bought the Labrador Retriever.

So I guess we would see the following headline in the papers:

“Smith swoops in and wins Celtic target from Lennon”

  6. Wardy says:

Naw it shouldna ya fanny it should read c*lt*c 9-2 Rangers if anything, wanker.

  7. Gibby says:

Aye right Mack because neils such a family man. Smith wid be buying the dugg as a guide dugg for Lennon seeing as he cannae see a feckin player unless it bit him oan the arse !!!

  8. mad tim says:

Weiss’s main strength is speed seeing that Celtic now have the two fastest fullbacks in the SPL in Cha and Izaguirre I fail to see him troubling us

  9. Max says:

Quality wardy pure quality (if anything!!)!!LOL!

BTW, exactly what ward is it you’re on wardy??
