This evening, at 9pm on BBC1, I’ll be watching Undercover: Football’s Dirty Secrets, Panorama’s much-hyped investigation into corruption in British football. I want to know, what exactly are these ‘dirty secrets’? Does Ian Dowie likes to wear women’s underwear? Is Jose Mourinho is a closet Hollyoaks fan?

Panorama bung probe – will you be watching tonight? Harry Redknapp won’t, Sam Allardyce probably will (from behind his sofa)… continued…

I think it’s inevitable that the programme will be something of a
disappointment – football fans don’t care about bungs, not one bit. If
it goes on, so what? – as long as your team is winning. Portsmouth boss
Harry Redknapp, who may or may not be referred to in tonight’s
programme, won’t be watching. He says: ‘I’m fed up with all this
business, all I’ve had to take… I am one million per cent the innocent
party in all this and, if you
let it, all the aggro can do your head in… But I’ve said all along that
I have nothing to worry about because I’ve never done anything wrong.’

Sam Allardyce probably will be watching, as he has admitted he
is ‘concerned’ about Panorama’s findings. Allardyce and his agent son
Craig are understood to have been among those investigated by the
programme.

Agents will come off worse in this, and they have no reputation to
damage anyway. Panorama will reportedly show football agent Charles
Collymore being
secretly filmed telling investigators that ‘six to eight managers’
would be ‘definitely up for a bung. Collymore goes on to name
managers and clubs though it is not certain that Panorama
will reveal those names.

Will you be watching? Do you care about bungs in football? Let us know…
