In April of last year, Liverpool ‘keeper Pepe Reina signed an eyebrow-raisingly mammoth six-year contract at Anfield and, despite all the periodic speculation of a summer move elsewhere, the Spaniard has vowed to honour the deal – with one simple caveat…that the club pulls it’s metaphorical finger out of it’s metaphorical arse!

Speaking to Liverpool’s in-house television channel, Reina said:

“[When we play badly] we are sailing on the same ship, and we all want the team to produce the results which we’re capable of. All I can do from my position is support my team-mates and play my own part.

“I signed a new contract last summer and still have more than five years left to run on it.

“Obviously, I want to be part of a team that has the chance to win the title, win major trophies and to play with the best players – but I expect that to happen here at Liverpool, and for the club to return itself to that level. I plan to stick with my contract.”

That should put those pesky Man Utd rumours to bed…for a month or two.

Quite simply a beautiful bastard. I’d sooner lose Torres than Reina.

  2. Donner Meat says:

He’s never going to Manchester United, give it a rest. He even has ‘Fuck the Matrix’ tatoo’d on his back.

I love Reina, what a beautiful bald man.

  4. Chris says:

He’s pretty much been the only thing keeping Liverpool out of the relegation zone the past few months. Glad he’s put out a statement – will need another in about a month to quiet my nerves.
