Blackburn Reveal Failed January Bid For Luis Fabiano

By Chris Wright

Blackburn have revealed that the club failed in a bid to prise Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano away from Sevilla.during January.

A spokesman for the club told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph:

“We did talk with Sevilla about Luis Fabiano. It was after we did not sign Ronaldinho, but we are not interested in signing Fabiano now.

“We want to sign a young striker but there are no plans for transfers now. We still have more time.”

I’m tempted to say ‘no sh*t’, but that would be unfair – after all, Rovers did come damn close to signing the aforementioned Ronaldinho, Juan Roman Riquelme, Lionel Messi and Pele last month.
