Knighthood for ‘Sir’ David Beckham?

_40376045_becks_pa203jpg_1David Beckham is set to be knighted in January, according to the Daily Express. The former England skipper could be in line for the honour for services to football and for the role he played in securing the 2012 Olympics for London.

Surely a place in the Real Madrid starting line-up would be guaranteed if he does become Sir David. You can’t get much more galactico than that! A playing football knight could be a dangerous precedent to set. Next it will be OBEs all round for an FA Cup shock! I think Posh could wait until Becks hangs up his boots to become Lady Victoria.
