‘I’ve Been Here Five Years And Won Nothing’ – Denilson Pushes For Arsenal Exit, No-One Stops Him

By Chris Wright

You might want to find something to bite down on and a plug for your about-to-be-evacuated bowels because the people’s hero, Denilson, will be leaving Arsenal at the end of the season.

The Brazilian midfielder told The Sun:

“I’ve simply been to see Arsene Wenger and told him how I felt – and he has agreed to let me go.

“This has been the worst season of my life and I am so upset, so frustrated. I am a winner and I came here to win trophies but I’ve been here for five years and won nothing.”

WOOAH! That’s English for ‘stop a horse’. Try that again Mr Neves, this time with a little less ‘massively over-inflated sense of self-worth’.

Perhaps go with something along the lines of “I’ve been here five years and contributed nothing” – yes, that sounds far more apt.

Please continue…

“A footballer’s career is over very quickly so it is time to move on.

“I know some people think I’m crazy. I need a fresh challenge and although I know I’m taking a big gamble I am ready to take that risk.

“I can’t see myself returning in a Chelsea shirt, or Liverpool or Manchester City – and definitely not Tottenham. I think my future will be in Spain or Italy.”

Any Gooners out there actually give a monkey’s monocle?

  1. Wenger out now says:

Please please change your mind……And go to tottenham

  2. Al says:

Thats just fine you leave Denilson yod hve to be one of the LAZIEST persons to have ever put on an Arsenal shirt. In fact you should have left years ago! Not only a disgrace to the Arsenal shirt but Brazilian as well! GOODBYE and GOOD RIDANCE!

  3. Ray Malya says:

Good bye and pls do not ever say you played for Arsenal your just a normal player not even good to clean the plyaers shoes

  4. SAGooner says:

Horray. Arsenal fans all over the world are happy about this. Denilson you suck. i bet we will win when you gone because you lower the skill level of the Arsenal team 10 fold. you the worst player I have ever seen in an Arsenal shirt. Dont let the door hit you on the way out you Twat.

  5. M says:

All this ‘oh it’s been 5 years, I should have won something’ talk is soo deluded. Who do these players think they are? You don’t get handed trophies simply because you’re Arsenal. Teams don’t just wait their turn-PLAYERS have to PLAY WELL and WIN. With people like him around, no wonder Arsenal’s mentality is out of whack…lataaaaa Denilson we don’t want you anyway

  6. Danish Gooner says:

He is the only brazilian with no footballing skills, that is as rare as finding the needle in the and you know the rest.Wonderful news it just about made my day,let us see if any club will take him it could be a challenge.Goodbye deckchair and good riddance, you over paid lazy mercenary.

  7. Shane says:

His biggest flaw is that he never learned how to run….and pass the ball….and track back….and tackle.

Apart from that he’s World Class!

  8. Joe says:

@Danish Gooner: I see your Denilson, and I raise you an Anderson. Love how he refers to himself as a ‘winner’, though. With Wenger’s pathological distrust of English players, Denilson might want to ask himself how a teenage local managed to get ahead of him in less than 2 seasons.

  9. Kevin says:

Maybe you are the reason Arsenal haven’t won anything while you’ve been there?

  10. syndex says:

@Danish Gooner I disagree entirely Jo is also brazilian with absolutely no football skills and was has a guinness world record for the heaviest first touch of any brazilian ever. However Denilson always had the smell of lower midtable (spain betis or getafe, italy sampdoria territory)

  11. Am says:

I think Denilson is getting in his piece before he was pushed out. Denilson is a winner, Yes a winner at being rubbish.

How does he expect to win anything when he is in the team himself? He was the biggest let down, we should have got rid in January and bought someone better.

If he is so good then why is, Cesc, Song, Wiltshire, Ramsay, Diaby, Rosiky all play more than he does. Now he has seen that Frimpong, Coquelin, Lansbury even Aneke are good and he will soon be behind all of these players as well.

The guy needs an ego check. Lets hope we get rid and bring in players and win things and he does not. How gutted will this guy be. I see him in the spanish 1st division. Dont think any top european team will want him.

  12. moondunce says:

least he didn’t have as much talent to spunk as his once-most-expensive-player-in-the-world namesake

  13. CrazyLegs says:

To be fair to Denilson, and i don’t want to be, he was probably as good as Stefan Malz … remember how bad he was :-)

  14. CrazyLegs says:

Worst player I have seen for a long time wearing the shirt, cost us too many goals by being stupid too often … Good to see you go! DONT EVER COME BACK!!

  15. Chris also says:

@ Am – Agreed! He obviously knows of the rumours and wants to be the one to do the dumping first to try to save some face which of course has just made him look idiotic. As if he needed any help with that.

  16. Paul Kirkland says:

Lol, he must realize that nobody wants him. Good on Wenger for letting him leave, he should’ve MADE him leave about 4 seasons ago

  17. wolfusa says:

he really bailed wenger out by saying he wanted to leave. wenger thought he was coming in to beg for his job, and when denilson said he wanted out, wenger almost spilled his coffee and croissant. imagine the predicament, trying not to act elated when you hear something like that.

  18. Gino Annie? says:

This ridiciously small headed Brazilian is and always has been poison. I’m an not an rsenal fan but I do like to watch them for obvious reasons but when I seen this Goon on the park it was time to switch off. How the hell did he get into the squad? Surely the gunners reserves hold better than him?

The problem is he thinks he can actually better himself and win some thing!!! Maybe promotion in the Coca-Cola championship but I’ll be happy to see this lazy git go.

    Arsenal will be better off

  19. Tim Lovejoy says:

    >He is the only brazilian with no footballing skills,

Excellent line. I was going with he is skilled like an englishman but yours is more elegant.

He should be grateful to Wenger and his agent because his only experience before being signed by Arsenal was a dozen games over two years at Sao Paulo.

Luckily for him, there is always the MLS who will be able to give him 1-2 million based on his Arsenal ties and that he is brazilian.
Dont laugh, Toronto’s KFC paid DeGuzmaa 2million for a guy who was a defensive player his whole life and who is beyond mediocre as a field general. His big selling point was he had played in Spain.
