“AAARRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!”                                “AAARRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!”

Their names may well have featured in just about every spurious transfer gossip column that has been farted forth over the past year or so, but two of Europe’s most coveted strikers appear to be verging on moves to these fair shores.

Despite Carlos Tevez currently staring down the barrel of a further sulky six months at Eastlands, Man City are pressing ahead with their attempts to snare fellow Argentinian Sergio Aguero from Atletico Madrid – with negotiations said to be ‘ongoing’ between the two parties over triggering Kun’s £39 million release clause.

The BBC understand that the talks are ‘progressing smoothly’, and that any deal for Aguero will be struck soon and regardless of the Tevez hoo-ha – y’know, because City are desperate for new strikers and all.

Elsewhere, the Beeb are also reporting that Chelsea have made an opening bid (somewhere around the £18-million mark) for Anderlecht wunderkind Romelu Lukaku, who has scored a shed-load of goals in Belgium despite the fact that he’s currently being potty trained and still has soft bits in his cranium.

Any thoughts?
