Audi Roll Out Flashy ‘El Clasico’ Advert, Has Really Nice Pay-Off (Video)

By Chris Wright

If, like me, you consider car (and perfume) adverts to be little more than pretentious audio/visual litter then this may not be your cup of tea.

That said, Audi’s pre-El Clasico (I think I’m right in saying they sponsor both Barcelona and Real Madrid in some capacity) viral has a really nice pay-off after a few minutes of obligatory slow motion – a huge piece of football artwork that you’d think they’d have made a bit more of, rather than just flashing it up on the screen for a split-second at the end…

The actual game is on Saturday evening (10th Dec) at the Bernabeu in case you were wondering.

@Archbishop Betty Snagcock: Really Sherlock? I really don’t mind. Looked great!

  4. Mark says:

…not to mention unimpressive… I’ll take a picture of my next bm, it looks likes Whistler’s Mother.

“Passion leaves it’s mark again”.. So passion left and now we’re left with Mark?!.. cheers audi

  6. Jay says:

    Nice vid

  7. MaxMad says:

I like the ending, with the two drivers showing a competitive side and a compassionate side.
Good stuff, Audi’s always tried to be creative in their ads.

  8. Anonymous says:

@MaxMad: Great point about the compassionate side thing. With all the politics involved in that game, it is good to show the spirit of the game (like in Rugby)

  9. Mark Stevens says:

How come neither of the players in the final design are getting their eye poked out?

    In any case:

Barca is Jesus, Madrid is God. How this Audi commercial explains the rivalry…
