Benfica’s Oscar Cardozo Shanks Open-Goal Sitter vs Maritimo, Sandi Toksvig Not Happy (Video)

By Chris Wright

Oscar Cardozo scored an 85th-minute winner to give Benfica a narrow 1-0 win over Maritimo yesterday, a victory that took his side back level on points with Porto at the summit of the Portuguese top flight – he also pulled this out of the bag…

Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

Of course, no one felt Cardozo’s one-yard shithousery more keenly than Benfica coach Sandi Toksvig, who was left completely agog on the touchline. And rightly so, t’was absolutely shite.

  1. Mizman says:

Ive always rated Cardozo really highly and a bit surprised a bigger European club hasnt taken him from Benfica

  2. João says:

Sandi Toksvig ahah! Imagine only you could understand the shit that comes from that guys mouth…

  3. PatBlue says:

    @ mizman

you said it… United so go for him to replace Vidic

maybe Cardozo could do a job at Utd but i doubt it’d be at centre half

Given Cardozo’s current form, the only lob he could do at Utd would be cleaning the stands… He has been shit lately, every 5 times he touches the ball, 4 of them he will lose it. If SAF doesn’t give Hernandez a chance, Cardozo would be in the Reserves of Man Utd Reserve team…

  6. chet says:

aye, 75 goals in 115 appearances. not too shabby.

    but this was shit.

  7. Nuno says:

He is a puzzle of a player: last two games he’s been awfull, I saw the CL game against Otelul in the stadium and it was impressive, every time he touched the ball he lost it, it was nervewracking.
But then again, Benfica won his last two games both 1-0 and Cardozo scored both winners…
But don’t forget in most of those 75 goals he’s been palying alongside Aimar, Saviola and a good part of them alongside Di Maria (many assists). I just hope we can still sell him for good money to someone who just look at the stats…
