In which Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Pirmin Schwegler is struck on the cranium by a wayward till roll, catapulted from the stands by the St. Pauli fans in the 2. Bundesliga last night, only to hit the deck like he’d just been picked off by Vassili Zaitsev as he made his way through the rafters at the Millerntor…

Granted, till rolls are dense, compact little lumps and it doubtlessly would’ve smarted – but a clean knock-out? Even the man himself admitted it didn’t hurt after the game, and that he went down because he was ‘surprised’. Give me strength.

By the way, If this is all sounding a bit familiar and deja vu-y to you, might I suggest you have a butcher’s at this.

Was he ever in the Barca youth academy?

Can anyone translate what his excuse was near the end please?

  3. Jay says:

@Sultan….Ahahahahaha, for a minute there I thought you were being serious and placing one of the BEST teams of this generation down to one cretin’s actions: Sergio Busquets….

    Oh the droleness of ya……

Actually if my German is correct. He says at the end that he was not hit very hard but he was in such shock because he didn’t know what hit him. He seems to indicate he was more scared than hurt. Which is understandable. The St. Pauli coach also thanked the player for not making a big scene. This is the second time an object has hit a player or linesman at St. Pauli. The first time a linesman was struck with a plastic beer cup.

Indeed Busquets is the mastercheat, but Dani Alves comes in a close second. And Valdés, oh I so want to punch his face everytime he runs 50 yards to go scream at the ref asking for a yellow (which is about 3 times in an average game and 50 times against Real Madrid).
