It’s not often we get to share ‘highlights’ from Indian football, but this little gem from the I-League merits a mention. East Bengal spanked Pailan Arrows 4-1 last Tuesday, with the home side’s third goal of the afternoon being well worth another look.
With 15 minutes left, East Bengal rolled a hopeful pass in behind the Arrows’ defence and covering full-back Lalrozama Fanai took it upon himself to do tidy shit up – by taking his own ‘keeper out with a two-footed missile tackle to the ankles, thus leaving cocky Bengal striker Tolgay Ozbey with as much time as he wanted to roll the ball over the line with his head and seal the rout…
