“I fart in your general direction!”

Eric Abidal’s second goal in over five seasons at the club saw Barcelona come from behind to snatch the victory in last night’s Copa del Rey quarter-final first-leg El Clasico in the Bernabeu.

Cristiano Ronaldo put Real Madrid one-up after ten minutes when he went off yomping down the left wing and lashed a low shot through Pinto’s legs at the near post.

Barcelona had to wait until five minutes after the interval for their equaliser, Carles Puyol thundering Xavi’s corner home with a charging diving header (shades of his goal for Spain against Germany in the World Cup semi-final last year) before, with ten or so minutes left to play, Abidal collected Lionel Messi’s rinky-dinky throughball and poked a finish past Casillas for the winner.

Bit of related trivia for you: Carles Puyol hasn’t lost in 51-straight games for Barcelona including last night’s outing. That’s 21 months without tasting defeat for the skipper. Not bad.

Oh, and in case you missed it, Pepe did this.

As a Madrid fan I am so ashamed of Pepe.

None will remember how well Madrid played first half,
all that game is remembered as is the game Pepe stepped on Messi’s hand.

Does he not realize there a bunch of cameras around him?

I don’t know about other fans but this guy has to go!

  2. MrMac says:

Pepe was always more hardman oldschool, but hasn’t it sort of escalated alot since Mourinho came?

I don’t remember him being this horrible under pellegrini.

    Fo shame, fo shame.

  3. Andy Carroll's Ponytail says:

Nice to see some Real fans rightfully bashing Pepe.

And Puyol! That little bit of trivia just tells you everything of what that man means to this Barcelona team. Colossus.

    @MrMac,

“I don’t remember him being this horrible under pellegrini.”

thats because pepe performed this act (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKt4IBxD5oo) shortly before pellegrini came into charge and therefore was banned for a while and only played a handful of games under pellegrini before the good lord took mercy on football and sliced his ACL straight in half, thereby putting him out of action for the rest of Pellegrini’s season in charge.

So yes, he wasn’t horrible under pellegrini because he didn’t really play under pellegrini, but if you look at his playing record before Mou, it does show a bit of a trend. That said, Mou didn’t make it any better
