Russian TV portrays Guus Hiddink as cartoon wizard… but his magic fails (with video)

Russia’s shock defeat to Slovenia in a World Cup playoff came just a couple of days after ‘Mult Lichnosti’, a Russian animated TV show (think ‘Spitting Image’), had portrayed Guus Hiddink as a wizard casting spells to ensure Russia’s success. Andrey Arshavin, Hiddink’s brightest star, also featured:

But for once, Guus’s magic touch deserted him. What now for the Dutch manager? There is talk he might end up back at Chelsea, perhaps as director of football, or if Liverpool’s season goes from bad to worse… who knows, he might even end up at Anfield. The Nigerian national team are also rumoured to be interested in his services for next summer’s World Cup.
