Granada’s Dani Benitez Pelts Referee In Face With Gatorade Bottle vs Real Madrid (Video)

After losing 2-1 at home to Real Madrid yesterday, Granada now go into the last game of the La Liga season hovering just two points above the relegation zone.

Understandably, the result against Madrid left things a little fraught at Los Carmenes, and the manner in which it came about only served to heighten the tension – losing out by way of a supposedly dodgy 81st-minute penalty and an injury-time own-goal.

The narked Granada players then swarmed referee Clos Gomez after the final whistle, with two players being shown post-match red cards, before substitute Dani Benitez cracked a bottle of Gatorade across the official’s face…

    You’d say that after seeing things like this.

    But I’m sure if you were one of the fans and just saw the ref give a dodgy penalty against your relegation-threatened club, then your tune may be a little different…
