This is horrible to watch (almost as horrible as Grant Holt’s grammar). France midfielder Yann M’Vila pulled up injured after spraining his ankle just four minutes into a friendly against Serbia – the game that played host to this 98kph Florent Malouda screamer – last night and hobbled off in floods of tears and sat weeping on the bench knowing that his Euro 2012 may have just gone down the toilet…
After the game M’Vila told L’Equipe:
“We will let things run their course, and hopefully I’ll be ready for June 11th (France’s opening game), God willing. I’m able to put my foot down on the floor, but I still have to walk with crutches, just in case. There is time to heal before the Euros.”
You don’t need us to tell you that it’d be a real kick in the nads to see M’Vila ruled out. With an ever-burgeoning reputation and a move to Arsenal said to be in the offing, the lad’s now primed for a starring role in front of the French back four this summer. Fingers crossed that a frustratingly minor and ill-timed injury doesn’t rob him of that.
