There was a charity game held over in Portugal last night, which saw a Benfica XI take on a team consisting of Luis Figo and his buddies – one of which was a chap by the name of Fernando Mendes, the human meatball currently tasked with presenting the Portuguese version of ‘The Price Is Right’.

When we say ‘meatball’, we’re not being flippant – this guy is 98% meat and almost entirely spherical, like a pork Space Hopper with tiny limbs tacked on the sides.

Anyway, Figo’s stellar squad included the likes of Edgar Davids, Gaizka Mendiata, Pauleta, Fernando Couto, Francesco Toldo, Roberto Carlos, Teddy Sheringham, Dwight Yorke, Michel Salgado, Rui Costa, Fabio Cannavaro and the real Ronaldo (no fat jokes please), yet somehow Mendes still managed to get some game time – waddling on for the last few minutes of the first half and spraying a few passes about before wheezing off down the tunnel for an emergency sandwich…

Despite boasting a squad dripping with legends, Figo’s boys still got pasted 5-1 on the night – Yorke netting the only goal for his side.

Here’s the full highlights…

I think this guys got a promising future. He shows in the vid he can use 2 feet, he wants the ball, he has a turn of pace (from very slow to slow) and if he was running at you at full speed you would probably cack yourself in fear. He’s also the same build as every fan i seem to get sat next to at games…

Not this bs again about the “real” Ronaldo. One never won a international trophy but did win a Champions League. The other never won a Champions League but did win International trophies. One Ronaldo actually broke the other Ronaldo’s record in goals in fact. Both are the real Ronaldo’s.I know Cristiano was named after Ronald Reagan, don’t know who Lima was named after though.

I do like a good laugh at a fat person’s expense (although the vid wasn’t particularly funny). They repulse and fascinate me at the same time. They don’t even look like humans, just a blob with limbs.

    @dirty

I smell a CR7 fanboy over here! The real Ronaldo was just so much cooler.

  5. Herman says:

That is not the real Ronaldo. neither is the Portugal one. There was a defender in Brazil’s 1994 World Cup squad called Ronaldo. He changed to Ronaldao. I think the one in the video should also have changed.

@Dave one ronaldo has a girlfriend who was on the cover of Sports Illustrated, the other ronaldo was caught with a bunch of shemales. I’ll let you guess which is which.

  7. plops says:

My grandad’s mate Ronald Oranjeboom (Ronald O. to his mates) was the real Ronaldo.

  8. Toz says:

This is why Portugal will never win any tournament.

Fast Forward 1 month to Midos debut for Barnsley…

  10. FatRonaldo says:

I think its more the fact that the older generation grew up watching fRonaldo destroy defenses, get bevved up, get fat, touch trannies and just generally be the best complete forward ever.

Whereas the current generation have roly poly gel hair cRonaldo who falls over, runs alot, does tricks and scores goals. And is a twat.

  11. Dan says:

i was at the match and he actually did better than ronaldo. ronaldo didn’t touch the ball, didn’t move and left after 4 minutes. fernando mendes was being hilarious too. oh and A Bola, portuguese sports paper called it the game of fatties, which portugal won 6-0 (mendes touched the ball 6 times, ronaldo none)

  12. Dan says:

i was at the match and mendes outshone ronaldo. ronaldo didn’t touch the ball once, or move, and went off adter 4 minutes. mendes was making a lot of jokes as well. the portuguese sports paper called it the game of fatties which portugal won 6-0 (mendes touching the ball 6 times, ronaldo none). oh, and roberto carlos never showed up

  13. Dan says:

ah well that’s awkward. thought the first one didn’t work

  14. Y2Johnny says:

@Dan, to be fair, Ronaldo did hurt himself before the match, he was seen in the TV with ice in his knee and the commentators were saying that while he was doing his exercises he hurt himself.

  15. Dan says:

ah ok, i take it all back so!
