He may be a forgotten man at the Emirates, but in the bronze medal game at the Millennium Stadium last night, Arsenal’s Park Chu-Young was key to South Korea’s win over Japan. The former Monaco striker scored one and assisted another as the Koreans deservedly beat the Japanese.

Park’s first goal, a superb, twisty individual effort came late in the first half, with South Korean captain Koo Jacheol doubling their advantage just before the hour mark. Intense rivals, the two sides were afraid to get stuck in, with a number of tasty/nasty challenges flying about. However, ultimately it was the South Koreans who would take the bronze.
