In which former Germany midfielder and current Toronto FC captain Torsten Frings simply asks commuters passing through Toronto train station to play pass with him and ends up feeling very small after six long hours of people avoiding eye contact with him.

We’re not entirely sure if this is a botched viral (it’s been released to promote Toronto FC’s 2012 campaign regardless), but of the 350+ people that bustled past, only two recognised the forlorn Frings – with just one lone bloke agreeing to take him up on a quick one-two…

Poor Torsten. Poor, poor Torsten. Six friggin’ hours.

  1. One England Captain says:

    Frings, can only get better……

    I’ll get my coat.

  2. its because he looks like a frigging (fringing!) student, stood their with his crap sign and George casual clothes.

  3. Eckpfosten says:

Nice one. No fake shots, no special effects, just simple true fail. Reminds me of Frings missing the most important match vs. Italy 2006 …sigh…so close :(

  4. Russ says:

I couldn’t listen to the audio since I’m at work but how do we know it’s six hours? It looks like half an hour. And 350 people at Union station in Toronto to pass by would only take a short while, even in one of these hallways off from the main concourse.

Wish he was doing that at 4:30 when I pass by because I woulda played and schooled him in some 1 v 1.

  5. blotto says:

How did you come up with 6 hours? Looks like 30 minutes to me……what am I missing?

  6. Marko says:

As a Torontonian, the last thing you want to do when going through the decrepit maze that is Union Station on a 30+ celcius summer day is stop and be a part of some bushleague marketing campaign. Maybe if Torsten and his buddies on TFC won more than 10 games a year, there’d be a different reaction. On the other hand, if that was a true giant of the game like Cantona or Messi….different story.

  7. John g says:

Where dis you get 6 hours?? I see it as 30 minutes.

  8. John says:

Where do you get 6 hours from?? He’s standing there for a little over 30 minutes. Which is about how long it would be for 350 people to walk by during morning rush hour. You do see there is a time clock on the video, right? What’s in the pies you’re eating?

  9. Branden says:

That’s exactly why Torsten says he loves playing in Toronto!

He can go to the grocery store with his family and NOT get mobbed

  10. blotto says:

    Six hours? Or 30 minutes?

  11. Khairo says:

    What’s that? Cleveland Clinic?

  12. js94 says:

Just imagine the amount of awkward eye contact that guy must have had…

  13. KingB3113 says:

It’s 6 hours in Canada time guys..
