Gerardo Bedoya Shown 41st Career Red Card, Studs Opponent’s Face To Celebrate, Given 15-Match Ban (Video)
By Chris Wright
Veteran Colombian international Gerardo Bedoya has a reputation of being an unhinged one-man mind mental with a rap sheet as long as you like, so it should come as little surprise that the 36-year old Independiente Santa Fe anchorman picked up his 41st (FORTY-FIRST!) career red card at the weekend against Millonairios for clubbing Yhonny Ramirez across the face with his elbow.
The sending off saw Bedoya become the player with the most career red cards (in the professional game) to his name and, upon realising his achievement, duly celebrated by raking his studs down Ramirez’s face as he lay prone on the ground…
Ramirez’s chewed-up face after the game…
It’ll no doubt warm your cockles to learn that Bedoya has since been fined 1,227,850 Colombian pesos (approx. £3,000) and been given a hefty 15-match ban for being such an over-aggressive little turd.

How does this get a lesser fine than what Terry and Suarez got from the F.A and than what Bendter got from UEFA? Should be banned for life + bigger fine.
@Josh: Because the wages in the Colombian league are considerably lower than in the EPL + no racism was involved.
Give a rest callin it the EPL will you it turns my stomach
I would fucking beat him ice-hockey style
indeed that deserved an ass whooping , somebody kicks your team mate in the face and you end up pushing and showing , somebody grow a pair and knock him the fuck out , i dont know whats more disgraceful the actual kick or the lack of reaction from teammates
@Kalich: Yeah! Get half your team suspended for 15 games.
That makes sense.
This isn’t a street brawl, you have to learn some restraint.
On the other hand, there’s something pleasing about some diving drama queen rolling around like a dying fish getting a kick in the head.
I love how nonchalant he is about it as well, like a rich guy checking if his cat is dead.
