Over in the Cypriot top flight on Saturday, an Anorthosis player (as well as several other members of personnel) came incredibly close to suffering an even nastier injuries when a Omonia Nicosia fan armed with an explosive flare decided to test out just how injured the prone player really was by chucking his grenade into the mix…
The match was then suspended for 10 minutes, though thankfully no-one was actually injured by the projectile.

Explosives like that are temporarily blinding and deafening and can cause general disorientation. That is why they went down. I’m sure it was hot too, even if they weren’t badly burned.
