Roma’s Mattia Destro Sent Off For NOT Removing Shirt After Goal Against Palermo (Video)
By Chris Wright
In which Roma striker Mattia Destro, after scoring his first goal for the club in the Giallorossi’s 4-1 demolition of Palermo yesterday having only been on the pitch for six minutes, falls foul of the most crass law in all of footballdom and is shown a second yellow card for *not actually* removing his shirt in celebration…
We can only presume he was booked for ‘intent’?

Who needs emotions, when you can have Blatter?
you can see him take it off after he scores ¬_¬ you see his white vest/shirt underneath.
He remembered that he isn’t supposed to take his shirt off …isnt that enough??
Serves him right. Why do he had to do it in the first place, being already booked (not even 10 min after he came on) and scoring the 4:0 against Palermo. We’re not talking about a late winning screamer against Juve or in the derby against Lazio. Which he is missing btw.
@Manolo Garnix
It was not the winning goal but, as Chris mentioned, it was his first goal for Roma. That is a reason to celebrate.
And as Sushrut mentioned above, he remembered he isn’t supposed to take his shirt off and immediatelly proceeded to put it right. He didn’t even have any message underneath, it was just of pure satisfaction of scoring. But given what you said, maybe the ref is a Lazio fan and wanted him out of that game. That does make more sense.
manolo:
that was his first game in serie a. i would burn my shirt if i scored on my debut.
On one hand it’s a little harsh because he looks like he realizes half way through taking it off that he’s already on a yellow and probably shouldn’t pick up a thoroughly naff red.
On the other hand, why was he removing his shirt after scoring the 4-0 goal against a team in the relegation zone. Good on the ref for punishing this clown.
Septic Blatter is an utter waste of space.
That worthless overpaid imbecile should be cleaning toilets where people of actual worth have just shit.
