Brazilian Superstar Neymar Makes Utter Hash Of Penalty Against Colombia (Video)
By Alan Duffy
While Zlatan Ibrahimovic was scoring one of the all-time great goals against England in Stockholm, another of football’s superstars, Brazilian attacker Neymar was producing one of the worst penalty kicks ever in New York.
The game, against Colombia, was Brazil’s 1,000th fixture and with the scores at 1-1 (with Neymar scoring the Brazilians’ goal), the gifted attacker had a chance to win the game from the penalty spot. However, after a rather bizarre shuffle to the side and run up, he blasted the ball way over the crossbar.
Neymar himself, not surprisingly, blamed the pitch which is used by both the NY Giants and New York Jets NFL teams. He said:
“It was a horrible shot. The grass was not settled but sometimes it happens.”

The video suggests it was Neymar, not the grass, that was unsettled. First time ever I recall seeing an opposing keeper provide support to the shooter after a missed PK.
Put Neymar’s name on the list of excellent scorers who should not be chosen to take a PK (right after Rooney).
Regarding the Neymar miss. They brought grass in especially for this match. The Jets and Giants play on artificial turf.
The way he is running towards the ball…these ridiculous side steps…
Oh lord…send us more players like messi.
