Carlos Costly Stages Elaborate Goal Celebration, Phones Home On His Boot (Video)
By Chris Wright
We’re not sure if this is an in-joke we’re not getting or whether Veria striker Carlos Costly’s (Birmingham City fans may or may not remember that name) strange and beguiling ‘football boot/phone’ goal celebration after scoring against Xanthi in the Greek Super League the other day was just a spur of the moment thing – either way it was pretty silly…
“Hello, Mum? Guess where I am?”
Given his glum goalless record at Brum, maybe poor Carlos just plum can’t remember how to celebrate goals properly and that was his best shot? Someone needs a refresher course.
