Queens Park Rangers 0-0 Norwich City – Premier League – 2nd February 2013

QPR kept their unbeaten run in the league  in 2013 going but will be disappointed not to have taken all three points against Norwich, with Adel Taarabt missing a second-half penalty.

In a rather mediocre first half, the Moroccan schemer was the best player on the pitch, but neither he or his team-mates could find a goal while the Canaries rarely threatened Julio Cesar’s goal, although early on Wes Hoolahan did have a fine chance to score from close-range, only to direct his effort over the bar.

After the break, the game improved with both sides creating chances. Cesar was once again in fine form, keeping out efforts from both Hoolahan and Bradley Johnson. However, when Norwich ‘keeper Mark Bunn was adjudged to have fouled Jamie Mackie in the box, the Hoops had a great chance to open the scoring. Taarabt struck the ball low and hard but Bunn was equal to it and the game stayed goalless.

New-signing Chris Samba impressed at the back for Rangers and came close to scoring late on as both sides went for the win. However, ultimately both sides would have to be happy with a point each.

QPR stay six points away from safety while the Canaries find themselves in 14th spot.
