In which, to kill a few minutes on the train down to Wembley for the Brazil game tonight, Wayne Rooney takes to interviewing Everton pair Leon Osman and Leighton Baines about the game, their time with England and Osman’s nostalgic hankering for Thomas the Tank Engine…

Rooney’s okay, but he’s got a long way to go before he’s touching shoulders with the true interview greats, like Michael Parkinson, David Frost and Salomon Kalou.

Jesus, this is just awkward. I assumed they’d all be friends and would do a joke interview, but they all act as if they don’t know each other. It’s creepy.

  2. The Karate Suit says:

Footballers just have it ingrained in their DNA to give stock, ultra professional and highly boring answers… it’s only the ones with a big of personality that can be differentiate between a light hearted clip for youtube and a serious post-match interview — should’ve asked Alex OC instead

  3. Mr Sensible says:

My respect for Baines has gone up massively seeing him not wear those dreadful Beats By Dre headphones that make you look like a pillock and don’t even sound good. Can’t beat some quality earphones.

  4. Zam says:

Yeah, whats the deal with footballers and Beats? You’d almost swear the clubs provide them, heh.
