Reigning Europa League champs Atletico Madrid took a battering at home against ten-man Rubin Kazan last night, eventually losing 0-2 at the Vincente Calderon after conceding in the first five minutes then seeing their plan to pile every man forward in search of a late equaliser backfire horribly when Rubin midfielder Pablo Orbaiz broke ranks and ran the ball into Sergio Asenjo’s vacated net in injury time…

    This was probably one of the worst tactical decisions in soccer’s history. Come on, in the first leg!? Now their trip to Russia is almost futile.
