USA U20 Keeper Cody Cropper Lives Up To Name, Deliberately Trips Mexico Scorer After Conceding Injury Time Goal (Video)

By Chris Wright

Mexico beat the USA 3-1 in extra-time to win the CONCACAF U20 Championship Final last night, with Mexico substitute Julio Gomez providing the breakthrough in added time to finally bust open the 1-1 deadlock that couldn’t be broken by either side during the first 90 minutes.

Irked at having conceded so late in the day, the perfectly pertinently-named USA keeper Cody Cropper shuffled over into Gomez’s path and…well, cropped him as the Mexican wheeled away in celebration…

Cropper by name, cropper by nature!

Delightfully bad sportsmanship, eh? You’ve got to love it.

did he get a card for that? I can’t bear watching American football (soccer) at either the national or league levels, let alone U20….
