What you’re about to see here is a truly appalling incident from a recent Brazilian Paulista A3 (the third division of the Sao Paulo regional championship) match between Independente de Limeira and Marilia on Saturday evening, wherein Independente’s Johnny Dos Santos, taking the addition of only four minutes injury time as his side pushed for a late equaliser as a personal insult, strides up to the referee and completely poleaxes him with a studs-up Yakuza kick to the face…
Bloody hell fire! Well, we guess that’s one way to increase the stoppage time.
The Brazilian FA are yet to announce his punishment, but you can probably go ahead and assume that Dos Santos might find his Saturday evenings freed up for the foreseeable future. To be honest, there’s every possibility a prison sentence may also arrive in the mail.
