With Marseille’s media department presumably on strike (this is France after all), Joey Barton was given the interviewing duties for a bit with Andre-Pierre Gignac for the club’s in-house television channel OMTV, and you’ll be glad to hear that his wonderful cod-Francais accent made a glorious reappearance…

   Through all the years Joey Barton has has played footy he has annoyed me by his actions, crazy actions at that on and off the pitch. However, this faux french accent is making me warm to him slightly. At least he is trying to his best to respect and mirror the accent and could come out of this stint a better, relaxed more cultured man!

   Just a point i think is worth making..not a fun point, I agree but.. If you spend enough time with people who speak English in a certain way, you can end up talking like them
