Utrecht had a pretty dismal old weekend over in the Eredivisie, losing 6-0 to AZ Alkmaar and finishing the game with just nine men on the field.
In fact, Utrecht were already down to nine men on the half-an-hour mark with AZ’s Yank striker Jozy Altidore scoring the two resulting penalties on his way to completing a first-half hat-trick within the space of seven minutes.
A forlorn-looking Utrecht eventually went in 4-0 down at the break. with Mike van der Hoorn sealing a bloody woeful first 45 minutes by notching a truly laughable own-goal under minimal (and that’s being overly kind) pressure just seconds before the break…
Crivens. What do you say to that? Just so, so, so outrageously bad.
