Having lifted the Champions League in impressive fashion under the stewardship of Jupp Heynckes, the arrival of Barcelona legend Pep Guardiola could well see Bayern Munich enjoy a golden era of success, both domestically and in Europe.

In his first game in charge, against local fan-club side Wildenau, Guardiola watched his mix and match side run out 15-1 winners, with Thomas Muller, Oliver Markoutz and Vladimir Rankovic on the score-sheet in the first period before Patrick Weihrauch (four goals), Julian Green (three), Franck Ribery (two), Mitchell Weiser (two) and Toni Kroos found the back of the net to secure the pre-season win.

Expect a lot more goals and wins in the coming season from the Bavarian giants…
