The Peruvian Football Federation have banned a player from second tier club Alianza Huanuco for 14 games after he reduced an opponent’s face to an oval of ground meat in a brutal collision at the weekend.

Alianza’s Brazilian striker Willigton Smith clattered through one tackle with a Deportivo defender only to follow through wildly, swinging a high boot and bringing it down heavily into the face of a second Deportivo player, Omar Cuya…

“Y BOOM!” indeed! It won’t surprise you to learn that the FPF have since hit Smith with a colossal 14-game ban for his ridiculous recklessness.

As for Cuyo, we imagine he had to undergo hours of facial reconstructive surgery and now looks something like this…
