A Spanish architect by the name of Luis de Garrido has taken it upon himself to design the perfect eco-house for Lionel Messi; a creation he calls the “One-Zero” with a nod to the wee man’s squad number for club and country.

Describing Messi as his “fantasy client”, De Garrido’s design features a football-shaped central building, with the rooftop lawn laid in hexagonal sections to look like a football once viewed from above, with the double garage/entrance gate at the front of the property designed to look like the number one – meaning the two structures together look like the number 10 from a bird’s eye view: hence the name of the place.

This from Inhabitat:

“The [house] is proposed for the forested land in the Llavaneres Sant Andreu municipality, about twenty miles north of Barcelona.

“At a birdseye view, the home appears like a soccer ball in design, with the classic hexagonal pattern serving as dividers that permeate the structure. Half of the roof would be covered with green grass, while the other half would comprise a triangular grid of mirrored glass that allows natural light to enter the entire interior.

“Wooden terraces surrounding the home’s perimeter on both levels connect residents with the lush landscape outdoors. Visitors would enter through a green-roofed gate house that leads to a path to the main house and the home’s back side would meet an oversized swimming pool.”

While Messi himself has nothing to do with the design (i.e, he hasn’t actually commissioned it or anything like that), De Garrido’s proposed design is part of 33 BIP VIP architectural campaign that is ongoing at the moment and has seen 33 designers creating conceptual homes for 33 different celebrities including Barack Obama, Beyonce, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Madonna, Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey and Stephen Hawkins.

So there you go.
