Frickley Athletic Defender Scores Outrageous 40-Yard Own-Goal Against FC United Of Manchester (Video)

By Alan Duffy

A quite magnificent own-goal here, courtesy of the Evostik Northern Premier League on Saturday.

Frickley’s Steven Gardner looked to have the situation under the control ont he half-way line, despite the attentions of Rhodri ‘Ryan’s Brother’ Giggs. However, instead of simply knocking the ball either back to his ‘keeper or just out of play, Gardener walloped the ball back towards goal, over his stranded ‘keeper and into the Frickley net.  Superb! The score in the game, which took place at Gigg Lane, ended in a 3-0 win for United.

The own-goal takes place from 3:26 onwards…
