Brazil U17s Quite Literally Give Up Against USA, Stop Playing Entirely For Final Few Minutes (Video)

Without seeing any of the game, you could have flippantly assumed that Brazil’s U17 string merely gave up against their USA counterparts at the recent Nike International Friendlies tournament, given that the final score wound up being 4-1 in the Yanklings’ favour.

However, you’d have no idea how right you were in a quite literal sense, with the Brazilian side stopping and refusing to pay for the final few minutes of the game, which the referee drew to a close with only 89 minutes and 30 seconds on the clock…

If you’re looking for answers, we’re afraid we haven’t got the foggiest!

Maybe it was something to do with ‘Common Sense FC‘ protests that have been held sporadically over in Brazil of late that have seen professional footballers cross their arms and refuse to play for a few moments after kick-off , though we can’t imagine fixture congestion is much of a problem at U17 level.

Maybe we’re just looking a group of huffy teenagers throwing a unified wobbly after having their backsides handed to them.

Anyone out there any the wiser?

It makes sense to me (without watching the game)…
You wrote “…and refusing to pay for the final few minutes…”, so there you go!
Since under 17’s usually don’t earn that much as a pampered Man City player does… I’d also refuse to play if i had to pay :)

    but yeah… besides that… I don’t have a clue what happened there.

Apparently it was due to the late sending off moments before. The players attempted to go forward but the coach demanded that they stay back.

apparently the brazilians were upset because they had just had their second player sent off in the game. coupled with being down 4-1, they decided to give up.

The title of the video basically says “American U15s make the Brazilian team look like idiots”

There’s gotta be more to the story. But still, the US team should have just marched down the field and scored again! That’s the game, the whiners.
