Gareth Bale Subbed Off After Taking Hefty Hoof To The Gentleman Vegetables vs Granada (Video)

By Chris Wright

Real Madrid ascended to the top of La Liga with a routine 2-0 win over Granada on Saturday, though Gareth Bale’s game only lasted 45 minutes – the Welshman having to be substituted off at half-time after recieving a rather hefty swipe to the gonads with just eight minutes gone, courtesy of Colombian centre-half Jeison Murillo…

Being the little trooper he is, Bale soldiered on to the break before asking Carlo Ancelotti to be taken off, with the Real Madrid coach later confirming on Twitter that “Bale didn’t feel comfortable after the knock he received and that’s why I took him off” before adding that the winger isn’t ‘injured’ per se (though his voice is presumably a few octaves higher) and will be available for their midweek cup tie against Espanyol.
