Swansea City 1-1 Crystal Palace – Premier League – 2nd March 2014
Crystal Palace’s forgotten man, Glenn Murray, converted a late penalty to give the Eagles a share of the points at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday. For most of the game, the home side were well in control, taking the lead on 25 minutes courtesy of a strike from Dutch midfielder Jonathan De Guzman. However, with the game drawing to a close, Chico Flores was adjudged to have fouled Murray in the Swans’ box, although the initial contact may well have taken place just outside the area. Still, Murray stepped up to slot the ball home while the Eagles came mighty close to securing a surprise win at the death. Palace are now three points above the drop-zone, with Swansea five points clear of danger.
