England 1-0 Denmark – International Friendly – 5th March 2014

International friendlies are always difficult to call, what with the endless substitutions and managerial experiments, but against Denmark on Wednesday night, a Liverpool-heavy England produced a patchy display.

In-form striker Daniel Sturridge did net the winner late on after some superb work from sub Adam Lallana but for large periods of the game the hosts struggled to create enough decent chances while Kasper Schmeichel repelled whatever efforts on goal the Three Lions did muster. However, a win is a win and with Lallana and team-mate Luke Shaw impressing, as well as Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling, there was still enough for Roy Hodgson to be satisfied with.

If we let opposition players run on to simple through balls right through the middle of our defense like that well get gunned down more so than what we will already.
We have some ok moments. But ok moments are not game turning.
I dont think we are a bad side. We’re just not much fun to watch anymore.
I still think we’ll pinch a spot into the second phase.
