371, Not Out: Lionel Messi Becomes Barcelona’s All-Time Top Scorer, Aged 26, With Hat-Trick Against Osasuna (Video)

By Chris Wright

Spain Soccer La Liga

He’s taken his sweet bloody time getting there, but Lionel Messi has finally overtaken Paulino Alcantara to become Barcelona’s all-time top goalscorer thanks to his hat-trick in Barca’s 7-0 demolition of Osasuna at the Camp Nou this afternoon.

Alcantara’s record of 369 goals in 357 appearances stood for almost 90 years, but Messi rattled off his 369th, 370th and 371st goals (hisĀ 25th hat-trick for the club: also a record) against Osasuna to snaffle himself yet another personal record for his enviable collection…

For a comprehensive list of Messi’s personal records, please head this-a-way.

Unbe-friggin’-lievable.
