Based in the city of Belem in northern Brazil, Gigantes do Norte (Giants of the North) aren’t you’re average football team.

Indeed, formed in 2006, the Gigantes squad is made up solely of players with differing degrees of dwarfism with the squads average height being somewhere around the 4-foot mark.

Spearheaded by 3’3″ striker Casimero Ribeiro (also known as “Wagner Love” for reasons we’re not entirely aware of), Gigantes play regular exhibition games against average-height opponents in an effort to combat size prejudice in their native land – with their coach, Marcos Martins, proudly claiming that several members of his squad are more than talented enough to have had professional careers had they been born taller.

Despite their smaller stature, Gigantes play their games on full-size pitches with regulation-sized goals with the only concession being that players are allowed to double-up on each other’s shoudlers when forming defensive walls for free-kicks…

Cracking. Keep up the good work, chaps.
