Double denim BOOM!
Given that he’ll miss Barcelona’s winner-takes-all title showdown with Atletico Madrid this weekend due to his pesky ongoing knee injury, Carles Puyol has already played his final game for the club after a total of 19 years at the Camp Nou.
During that time, one-club man Puyol has won an impressive 21 trophies and become a true club and cult legend due to his commitment to the cause and, of course, that hair.
As just one of the many tributes that Barca have been paying to Puyol for his esteemed service over the past few days, the club have cobbled together a really rather good little video montage which takes in his entire time at the club – starting with a 14-year-old Puyol being introduced as “the hairiest one” on Televisio de Catalunya by Barca Supporters Club head honcho Llorenc Cortina back in 1992.
The video also features a cavalcade of farewell messages from his Barca cohorts past and present, with an awful lot of armband kissing thrown into the mix for good measure…
Nice, but they definitely missed the real highlight…
