World Cup holders Spain ended a disastrous 2014 campaign on a positive note with a good win against Australia on the final day of matches in Group B.

David Villa, Fernando Torres and Juan Mata were the scorers in the game which also saw Cesc Fabregas come off the bench and Jose Reina, Raul Albion, Koke and Santi Cazorla feature in a mix-and-match Spanish side.

The Socceroos started the game but brightly but once Villa opened the scoring on the half-hour mark, they started to look vulnerable. Spain’s other two goals cam after the break against a tired Australian side but ultimately this was the end of the line for these two sides.
