Iran scored their first goal of the tournament, courtesy of Charlton’s Reza Ghoochannejad but it wasn’t enough to keep them in the tournament as an Impressive Bosnian side won this Group F clash 3-1.

A fine strike from Edin Dzeko opened the scoring for the already-eliminated Bosnians before playmaker Miralem Pjanic made it 2-0 on the hour-mark. Iran finally got their first goal of World 2014 late on before full-back Avdija Vrsajevic sealed the deal for the Europeans.

Despite a good showing against Argentina, Iran’s lack of teeth up-front was always going to be their downfall. Bosnia, on the other hand, will be disappointed not to have done more with such a decent squad.
