The Swiss Super League, up and running for the new season, may have already produced what may well be the best own-goal of the 2014/15 campaign.
Young Boys’ Serbian midfielder Milan Gajic was the scorer of the unfortunate own-goal in the Bern club’s clash with St. Gallen, lashing the ball (with some unintentional skill) into the top corner after his attempted interception went of kinds of wrong. The strike is what is currently known, by the hip young football types, as a ‘thunderbastard’.
That goal but St. Gallen 2-1 up but the game ended in a 2-2 draw so hopefully that will provide a crumb of comfort for the 27-year-old Galic.
