Having left Heerenveen to join Real Sociedad in July, Icelandic striker Alfred Finnbogason travelled back to the Netherlands earlier in the week to pick up his award for finishing up as the top goalscorer in the Eredivisie last season.
However, while picking up his prize from previous two-time recipient Ruud van Nistelrooy, it all got a bit too much for a visibly overwhelmed Finnbogason, who promptly wobbled a bit before fainting on stage…
Oopsy daisy.
According to MARCA, Finnbogason made a swift recovery and was in a “humourous mood” by the time he actually got his hands on the award.
