A magnificent Graziano Pelle scissor-kick kept Southampton’s superb start to the season on track in a hard-fought clash with QPR.

Full-back Ryan Bertrand opened the scoring for the Saints on 54 minutes as the Hoops looked set for another disappointing result. However, Charlie Austin levelled the scores soon after, courtesy of a superb swivelled effort.

Ronald Koeman’s side have been one of the most vibrant attacking sides this season and they were level for just two minutes before Italian hitman Pelle topped Austin’s fine strike with a glorious effort which ultimately secured another deserved win for the high-flying Solent side.

As for Harry Redknapp’s QPR, despite the obvious talent in their ranks, it could well be another long, hard season for the Londoners.
