We know what you’re thinking: You wait ages for a Christoph Kramer post then two, etc, etc…

Anyway, the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder managed to wriggle his way out of a booking against newly-promoted SC Paderborn at the weekend when opposing striker Stefan Kutschke sort of admitted to taking a tumble to the referee.

After being pulled up for a supposed cynical trip on Kutschke, the referee was in the midst of booking Kramer for a professional foul when the Paderborn forward confessed to “slipping on the turf” (hmmm) and informed the official that the Gladbach man hadn’t actually made contact with him.

The ref then did the decent thing and chalked off Kramer’s booking entirely…

Speaking after the game, Kutschke explained that he admitted slipping to ref as it was “the done thing.”

For what it’s worth, Kramer then later admitted to ZDF that he “probably wouldn’t have done it” (i.e, confessed) himself.
