Hull City 0-1 Southampton – Premier League – 1st November 2014

A superb long-range effort from Victor Wanyama secured yet another victory for high-flying Southampton at the KC Stadium on Saturday.

The visitors were the better side throughout the game but were helped by netting the only goal of the game early on. Midfielder Wanyama was the goal-hero for the Saints after just three minutes, capitalising on a poor clearance from back-up ‘keeper  Eldin Jakupovic to fire home from 40 yards. After that, the Tigers went close courtesy of efforts from Hatem Ben Arfa and the lively Robbie Brady, but overall the visitors deserved the three points.

Ronal Koeman’s men stay second, four points behind Chelsea, while Steve Bruce’s Tigers are 13th.
