To coincide with the club launching their brand new training facility, Southampton have approached Saints both past and present to share their memories of spending their formative years on the south coast.

The likes of Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott, Rickie Lambert and Matt Le Tissier all showed up for a good gush, as well as current players like old-timer Kelvin Davis, emergent youngster Matt Targett and Morgan Schneiderlin- who famously threw a tantrum and accused Southampton of “destroying his career” when they refused to let him leave for Tottenham this July just gone…

Seriously though, English football has an awful lot to thank the Southampton production line for – this is the academy that produced Chris Baird after all.

    absolutely stunning, and amazing to name it after the main man markus. les reed and ralph kreuger and also katherina have done a better than amazing job behind the scenes. my hat goes off to you all. never been more excited to be a saints fan in 40 years.to all the staff working behyind the scenes are doing an amazing job too. coyr
