Southampton 2-0 Leicester City – Premier League – 8th November 2014

A Shane Long brace secured another win for Ronald Koeman’s high-flying Southampton at St. Mary’s on Saturday.

Nigel Pearson’s Leicester side started brightly but struggled to threaten the Saints’ goal and as the game wore on, the hosts start to take control. Saido Mané failed to make the most of a decent chance in the first-half but eventually the goals would come for the Saints. Irish striker Long has struggled to make his mark at Southampton since his summer move to the south coast, but it was his late brace which would ultimately secure a deserved win for the Solent side.

Southampton stay second, four points behind leaders Chelsea while the Foxes are third from bottom with just nine points from 11 games.
